Wraithbound Arena - Multiplayer Action RPG

Our client's dream was simple on paper: an action RPG where a thousand players could clash in real time without a single dropped sword swing. In reality, their early build buckled under multiplayer load, with hit registration lagging just enough to turn epic boss fights into guessing games. We spent 20 weeks re-engineering the game around a server-authoritative core, where every attack, dodge, and loot drop is validated centrally instead of trusted blindly from the client. To keep the experience snappy despite the physics of distance, we layered in client-side prediction with server reconciliation, so a player in Tokyo and a player in Toronto can duel, and both feel like they landed the winning blow at the right moment.
